Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he made a great deal of supplication which we could not memorise. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will tell you of something that gathers all of that supplication. Recite this:
'Allahumma inna nas'aluka mimma sa'alaka Muhammadun nabiyyuka wa rasuluk, wa nasta'idhuka mimma ista'adha bihi nabiyyuka Muhammadun abduka wa rasuluk, anta al-musta'an wa alayka al-balagh, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah'
(O Allah! We ask You for the things that Your Prophet and Your Messenger asked You for, and we seek Your refuge from the things from which Your Prophet, Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), sought refuge, who is Your servant and Your Messenger. You are the One whose help is sought, and upon You is the conveying; nothing can happen without the help of Allah Almighty.)"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is da'if (weak).
