Sayyiduna Abu Mughith bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When Khaybar came into view before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said to his Companions: "Halt!" Then he made this supplication:
'Allahumma rabbas-samawati wa ma azallat, wa rabbal-aradina wa ma aqlalna, wa rabbash-shayatini wa ma adlalna, wa rabbar-riyahi wa ma dharayna, as'aluka khayra hadhihil-qaryati wa khayra ahliha, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ahliha wa sharri ma fiha'
(O Allah, Lord of the heavens and of all that they shade; Lord of the earths and of all that they carry; Lord of the devils and of all whom they lead astray; Lord of the winds and of all that they blow upon: I ask You for the good of this town and the good of its inhabitants, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of it (that is, the town), the evil of its inhabitants and the evil that is in it.)
(Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions:) "Now proceed in the name of Allah!" The narrator says: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to enter a town, he would recite these same words for it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator who is not named, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
