Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Abd al-Qari narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: One night I stayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him), when he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished his prayer and lay down on his bed, recite:
'Allahumma a'udhu bi-mu'afatika min 'uqubatik, wa a'udhu bi-ridaka min sakhatik, wa a'udhu bika mink, Allahumma la astati'u thana'an 'alayka wa law harast, wa lakin anta kama athnayta 'ala nafsik' (O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pardon from Your punishment, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your displeasure, and I seek refuge in You from You. O Allah, I am not able to praise You as is due, however intensely I may wish to; You are as You have praised Yourself).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Abd al-Qari, and Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
