Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you is about to sleep, he should recite:
'Amantu billah, wa kafartu bit-taghut, wa'dullahi haqq, wa sadaqal-mursalun, Allahumma a'udhu bika min tawariqi hadhal-layli illa tariqan yatruqu bi-khayr' (I believe in Allah and I reject the taghut (false deities); the promise of Allah Almighty is true and the messengers have spoken the truth. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from whatever comes in this night (of trials or afflictions), except for that which comes at night bringing good).
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Ayyash, who is da'if (weak).
