Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever, on coming to his bed, recites:
'Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi 'ala fa-qahar, wa batana fa-khabar, wa malaka fa-qadar, alhamdu lillahil-ladhi yuhyi wa yumit, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir' (All praise belongs to Allah alone, who is exalted and so has prevailed, who is hidden yet fully aware, who is the Owner and has decreed. All praise belongs to Allah alone, who gives life and causes death, and He has power over all things).
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: That person will come out of his sins as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Janab al-Kalbi, who is da'if (weak).
