Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites: 'Subhanallahi, wal-hamdu lillahi, wa la ilaha illallahu, wallahu akbar, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (Allah is free of every defect; all praise is for Allah Almighty; there is no deity except Allah Almighty; Allah Almighty is the Greatest; and nothing can happen without the help of Allah Almighty), an angel places a seal on them with his wing, and he does not stop until he brings them to the Throne. Whatever he passes by prays for mercy for these words and for the one who recited them. Tasbih means declaring Allah Almighty free of everything evil (that is, everything unbefitting His majesty). And whoever recites 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'Aliyyil-'Azim' (There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent), Allah Almighty says: My servant has obeyed and submitted."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Shaybah Ibrahim bin Uthman, who is da'if (weak).
