Sayyidah Khawlah bint Hakim (may Allah be pleased with her) states: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out carrying his two grandsons (his daughter's sons) in his arms, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah! You (that is, a man's children) make one cowardly and miserly; yet you are among the fragrant flowers granted by Allah Almighty. And indeed the last trampling that Allah Almighty carried out was at the place 'Wajj'." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Al-Tirmidhi recorded this report, but he did not mention "Wajj" in it.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, but they recorded these words: "That was the last trampling carried out by the Lord of all the worlds." Sufyan, a narrator, says: The last military expedition (ghazwah) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) undertook was the expedition of Ta'if. A poet said: "I will trample you the way a wounded one tramples." The narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy), except that, to my knowledge, the narrator Umar bin Abd al-Aziz did not hear from Sayyidah Khawlah (may Allah be pleased with her).
