وَعَنْ زُبَيْبِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ رَقَبَةٌ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَلْيَعْتِقْ مِنْ بَنِي الْعَنْبَرِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زُبَيْبٍ ، كَمَا وَقَعَ فِي الْأَصْلِ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مُكَبِّرًا كَمَا ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ أَبَي حَاتِمٍ وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ فِي ثِقَاتِ التَّابِعِينَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Zubayb bin Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever is obliged to free a slave from among the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him) should free someone from Banu al-Anbar."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator Abdullah bin Zubayb, as it appears in the original, but he is actually Abdullah in the non-diminutive form, as Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned him, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy Tabi'in. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
