بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِ قُرَيْشٍ .

Majma al-Zawaid 16452 — Reports on the virtue of Quraysh
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اطْلُبُوا " - أَوْ قَالَ - : " الْتَمِسُوا الْأَمَانَةَ فِي قُرَيْشٍ ; فَإِنَّ الْأَمِينَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ لَهُ فَضْلٌ عَلَى أَمِينِ مَنْ سِوَاهُمْ ، وَإِنَّ قَوِيَّ قُرَيْشٍ لَهُ فَضْلَانِ عَلَى قَوِيِّ مَنْ سِوَاهُمْ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek trustworthiness in Quraysh (the narrator is in doubt here about one word of the Arabic), for the trustworthy person from Quraysh will have superiority over the trustworthy person from other people, and the strong person from Quraysh will have double superiority over the strong person from others."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
