وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " النُّجُومُ أَمَانٌ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ ، وَأَصْحَابِي أَمَانٌ لِأُمَّتِي " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The stars are a safeguard for the inhabitants of the heavens, and my Companions are a safeguard for my ummah."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is jayyid (good), except that the narrator Ali bin Talhah did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
