وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " النَّاسُ حَيِّزٌ ، وَأَنَا وَأَصْحَابِي حَيِّزٌ " .
فَقَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، وَرَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ : صَدَقَ ، وَهُوَ عِنْدَ مَرْوَانَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَأَحْمَدُ فِي حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ تَقَدَّمَ فِي الْهِجْرَةِ فِي أَوَّلِ كِتَابِ الْجِهَادِ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people are in one place, and I and my Companions are in another place." The narrator said: Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "He has spoken the truth." At that time they were with Marwan.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and Imam Ahmad recorded it within a long hadith that has already passed at the beginning of the Book of Jihad, in the chapter on emigration (Hijrah). The narrators of both reports are the narrators of the Sahih.
