وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" احْفَظُونِي فِي أَصْحَابِي فَمَنْ حَفِظَنِي فِيهِمْ حَفِظَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَحْفَظْنِي فِيهِمْ تَخَلَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، وَمَنْ تَخَلَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَأْخُذَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ ضُعَفَاءُ جِدًّا ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقُوا .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Guard me with regard to my Companions. Whoever guards me with regard to them, Allah Almighty will guard him in this world and the Hereafter; and whoever does not guard me with regard to them, Allah Almighty will abandon him; and whomever Allah Almighty abandons, it is near that He will seize him."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains extremely weak narrators who have been declared trustworthy.
