وَعَنْ عِيَاضٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ - وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ - أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " احْفَظُونِي فِي أَصْحَابِي وَأَصْهَارِي ، فَمَنْ حَفِظَنِي فِيهِمْ حَفِظَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَحْفَظْنِي فِيهِمْ تَخَلَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، وَمَنْ تَخَلَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَأْخُذَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ ضُعَفَاءُ جِدًّا ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقُوا .

Sayyiduna Iyad al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of being a Companion, said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Guard me with regard to my Companions and my in-laws. Whoever guards me with regard to them, Allah Almighty will guard him in this world and the Hereafter; and whoever does not guard me with regard to them, Allah Almighty will abandon him; and whomever Allah Almighty abandons, it is near that Allah Almighty will seize him."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain contains extremely weak narrators who have also been declared trustworthy.
