وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ أُخْرَى مُخْتَصَرَةٍ قَالَ فِيهَا : فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَسَأَلْتُهُ مُصْحَفًا كَانَ عِنْدَهُ فَأَعْطَانِيهِ .
In another, abridged report these words are transmitted: The narrator says: I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him for a copy of the Qur'an (mushaf) that he had with him, and he gave it to me.
