عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ أَنَّ : النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : ذُو الْبِجَادَيْنِ : " إِنَّهُ أَوَّاهٌ " . وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ كَثِيرُ الذِّكْرِ لِلَّهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - فِي الْقُرْآنِ ، وَكَانَ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ فِي الدُّعَاءِ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُمَا حَسَنٌ .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about a man who was called "Dhu al-Bijadayn": "He is obedient (awwah)." The reason for this was that this man remembered Allah abundantly in reciting the Qur'an, and he used to supplicate in a loud voice.
