Nafi' said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) distributed thirty thousand in a single gathering, and then a month passed over him in which he did not get even a single piece of meat to eat. The narrator Burd says: I asked Nafi': Did he eat meat? Nafi' said: When he was fasting, or when he was travelling, meat was mostly what he ate.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this report, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Burd bin Sinan, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
