وَبِسَنَدِهِ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ : أَغَارَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ عَلَى لَقَاحِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَرَكِبْتُ فَأَدْرَكْتُهُمْ ، فَظَفَرْتُ بِهِمْ وَقَتَلْتُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حِينَ رَآنِي : " أَفْلَحَ الْوَجْهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ " . - ثَلَاثًا - وَنَفَّلَنِي سَلْبَ مَسْعَدَةَ .
With the same chain, this statement of Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) is reported. He says: The polytheists raided the milch camels of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and carried them off. I mounted and caught up with them, I overcame them and killed Mas'adah. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me, he said: "This is a successful face! O Allah, forgive him." He said these words three times, and then he gave me the belongings of Mas'adah as a reward.
