Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15771

Abu al-Ala bin Umayr narrates: I was with Sayyiduna Qatadah bin Milhan (may Allah be pleased with him) when his last moments had drawn near. A man passed by in the far corner of the house, and I saw his reflection in the face of Sayyiduna Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him). The narrator says: Whenever I saw him, it seemed as though there was oil on his face (that is, it was extremely clear and bright). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed his hand over his face.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
