Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15744

Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "O Banu Salimah! Who is your chief?" They replied: "It is Jadd bin Qays, though we regard him as miserly." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What illness is worse than miserliness? Rather, your chief is the curly-haired man, Amr bin al-Jamuh."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for al-Tabarani's teacher.
