بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْعَبَّاسِ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَمَنْ جُمِعَ مَعَهُ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ
Reports on al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), paternal uncle of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and those of his children mentioned with him

وَعَنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ : هَلَكَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، وَابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَأَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، لِتِسْعِ سِنِينَ مَضَتْ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ عُثْمَانَ ، وَبَعْضُ النَّاسِ يَقُولُ : هَلَكَ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ ، وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ عُثْمَانُ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - .
Al-Haytham bin Adi says: Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud and Sayyiduna Abu Sufyan bin Harb (may Allah be pleased with them) passed away after 9 years of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) had elapsed. Some people say: He passed away in (the year) 34, and Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani led his funeral prayer.
