Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Ghasil (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He passed by Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: My dear uncle! Bring your sons with you to me. So Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) went and brought six of his sons with him: Sayyiduna al-Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Qutham (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ma'bad (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took them into a house, covered them with his black sheet embroidered in red, and made this supplication: "O Allah! These are my household (Ahl al-Bayt) and my kin ('itrah); so cover them from Hell (i.e. save them from it) just as I have covered them with this sheet." The narrator says: Every brick and every door in the house said Amin to it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a group of narrators whom I do not know.
