وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : لَمَّا دَخَلَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا - عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فُسْطَاطَهُ ، حَضَرَ نَاسٌ وَحَضَرْتُ مَعَهُمْ لِيَكُونَ لِي فِيهَا قِسْمٌ ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " قُومُوا عَنْ أُمِّكُمْ " . فَلَمَّا كَانَ مِنَ الْعَشَاءِ حَضَرْنَا ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِلَيْنَا فِي طَرَفِ رِدَائِهِ نَحْوُ مُدٍّ وَنِصْفٍ مِنْ تَمْرِ عَجْوَةٍ ، فَقَالَ : " كُلُوا مِنْ وَلِيمَةِ أُمِّكُمْ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his tent, some people were present there, and I was present with them so that I too might receive a share in it. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and said: Get up and leave your mother. When it was time for the evening meal, we came again. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us, and he had about one and a half mudd of Ajwah dates in his shawl. He said: Eat from your mother's wedding feast (walimah).
