Abd al-Rahman bin Abza narrates: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said four takbirs in the funeral prayer of Sayyidah Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her). Then he sent a message to the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asking who should lower her into the grave. The wives said: The one who used to visit her in her lifetime. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: The one of you who will join me first is the one whose hands are the longest. So the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) measured their hands, whereas the real point was that Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) used to work and spend the earnings of her work in the path of Allah.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
