وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ قَالَ : ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ ، وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ تَحْتَ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، عَنْ شَيْخِهِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her); before that she had been married to Sayyiduna Zayd bin Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him).
At-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher al-Qasim bin Abdullah bin Mahdi, who is da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy; the rest of the narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
