Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) divorced Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her), and the people were distressed by it. Sayyidah Hafsah's (may Allah be pleased with her) maternal uncle Sayyiduna Uthman bin Maz'un (may Allah be pleased with him) and his brother Sayyiduna Qudamah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her). While they were still with Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her), grieving, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Hafsah! Jibril came to me just now and told me that Allah Almighty sends you salam (greetings of peace) and says to you: Take back Hafsah, for she is a woman who keeps many voluntary fasts and prays much, and she will be your wife in Paradise."
At-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a group of narrators whom I do not know.
