وَعَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : كُلُّ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قُلْتُ لَهُ : أَمَّا أَنْتَ فَقَدَ خَالَفْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ; هِيَ كَانَتْ أَحَبَّهُنَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Amir al-Sha'bi narrates: A man said: "To me, all the Mothers of the Believers are more beloved than Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her)." I said to him: "In this you have gone against the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was the most beloved of all the Mothers of the Believers to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
