وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَوْمَ مَاتَتْ عَائِشَةُ : الْيَوْمَ مَاتَ أَحَبُّ شَخْصٍ كَانَ فِي الدُّنْيَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - . ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ مَا خَلَا أَبَاهَا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ : مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .
It is reported about Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that on the day Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away, Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Today the person has died who was the most beloved in the world to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Then Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I seek forgiveness from Allah; her father, however, is an exception."
