Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: There are seven qualities in me that are not in any other woman, except for the qualities Allah Almighty granted to Sayyidah Maryam bint Imran (may Allah be pleased with her); and by Allah! I do not say this as a boast over any of my fellow wives. At this Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) said to her: "O Mother of the Believers! What are those qualities?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The angel descended with my image. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married me when I was seven years old, and when I was sent to his home I was nine years old. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married me I was a virgin, and he made no one share in this with me (that is, he did not marry any other virgin). Revelation would come to him while he and I were under one blanket. I was the most beloved of people to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I am the daughter of the person most beloved to him. Verses of the Qur'an were revealed concerning me, when the Ummah was close to being ruined on my account. I have seen Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him), and none of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) other than me saw Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away in my house, no one but me attended to him, and the angel grew strong." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is mentioned in the Sahih in abridged form.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and the narrators of one of al-Tabarani's chains are the narrators of the Sahih.
