Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her): Bring your husband and your two sons to me. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) brought them along, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spread over them a cloak that was beneath me; it was a cloak made in Khaybar which we had received from Khaybar. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! These are the family of Muhammad, so send down Your blessings and Your favours upon the family of Muhammad, just as You sent them down upon the family of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Al-Tirmidhi recorded this narration in abridged form, mentioning only the prayer of blessings.
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Uqbah bin Abdullah al-Rifa'i, who is da'if (weak).
