Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 14833

Abu al-Aswad narrates: Sayyiduna al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam when he was eight years old and emigrated when he was eighteen. Al-Zubayr's paternal uncle would hang him up in a reed mat and smoke him with fire, saying: "Return to disbelief!" And al-Zubayr would reply: "I will never disbelieve."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that it is mursal.
