وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَمُرَةَ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لِعَلِيٍّ : " مَنْ أَشْقَى ثَمُودَ ؟ " . قَالَ : مَنْ عَقَرَ النَّاقَةَ قَالَ : " فَمَنْ أَشْقَى هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ ؟ " . قَالَ : اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ : " قَاتِلُكَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ نَاصِحُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "Who was the most wretched person of the people of Thamud?" Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "The one who hamstrung the she-camel." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who will be the most wretched person in this Ummah?" He said: "Allah Almighty knows best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your killer."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Nasih bin Abdullah, who is matruk (abandoned).
