وَعَنْهُ قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - سَبْعِينَ سُورَةً ، وَخَتَمْتُ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى خَيْرِ النَّاسِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا مِنْ قَوْلِهِ : وَخَتَمْتُ إِلَى آخِرِهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا مِنْ قَوْلِهِ : وَخَتَمْتُ إِلَى آخِرِهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
It is transmitted from him that he said: I recited seventy surahs before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I completed the whole Qur'an before the best of people, Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This report is in the Sahih, but without the part about completing the whole Qur'an before Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
