بَابٌ فِيمَا كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ ، وَوَفَاتِهِ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ . 14536 عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَوَالَةَ قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي ظِلِّ دَوْمَةٍ وَعِنْدَهُ كَاتِبٌ يُمْلِي عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا أَكْتُبُكَ يَا ابْنَ حَوَالَةَ ؟ " . قُلْتُ : لَا أَدْرِي ، مَا خَارَ اللَّهُ لِي وَرَسُولُهُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي ، وَقَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ مَرَّةً : فَأَكَبَّ يُمْلِي عَلَيْهِ - ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَنَكْتُبُكَ يَا ابْنَ حَوَالَةَ ؟ " . قُلْتُ : لَا أَدْرِي ، مَا خَارَ اللَّهُ لِي وَرَسُولُهُ ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي ، وَأَكَبَّ عَلَى كَاتِبِهِ يُمْلِي عَلَيْهِ . قَالَ : فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا فِي الْكِتَابِ عُمَرُ ، فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّ عُمَرَ لَا يُكْتَبُ إِلَّا فِي خَيْرٍ . ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَنَكْتُبُكَ يَا ابْنَ حَوَالَةَ ؟ " . قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ قَالَ : " يَا ابْنَ حَوَالَةَ ، كَيْفَ نَفْعَلُ فِي فِتَنٍ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَطْرَافِ الْأَرْضِ كَأَنَّهَا صَيَاصِيِّ بَقَرٍ ؟ " . قُلْتُ : لَا أَدْرِي ، مَا خَارَ اللَّهُ لِي وَرَسُولُهُ ، [ قَالَ : وَكَيْفَ تَفْعَلُ فِي أُخْرَى تَخْرُجُ بَعْدَهَا كَأَنَّ الْأُولَى فِيهَا انْتِفَاخَةُ أَرْنَبٍ ؟ قُلْتُ : لَا أَدْرِي ، مَا خَارَ اللُّهُ لِي وَرَسُولُهُ ] . قَالَ : " اتَّبِعُوا هَذَا " . وَرَجُلٌ مُقَفٍّ حِينَئِذٍ ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَسَعَيْتُ فَأَخَذْتُ بِمَنْكِبِهِ ، فَأَقْبَلْتُ بِوَجْهِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قُلْتُ : هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " . فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ .

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَ : خَرَجَتِ الصَّعْبَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، فَسَمِعْنَاهَا تَقُولُ لِابْنِهَا طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ : إِنَّ عُثْمَانَ قَدِ اشْتَدَّ حَصْرُهُ فَلَوْ كَلَّمْتَ فِيهِ حَتَّى يُرَفَّهَ عَنْهُ . قَالَ : وَطَلْحَةُ يَغْسِلُ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ رَأْسِهِ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهَا ، فَأَدْخَلَتْ يَدَيْهَا فِي كُمِّ دِرْعِهَا ، فَأَخْرَجَتْ ثَدْيَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ : أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا حَمَلْتُكَ وَأَرْضَعْتُكَ إِلَّا فَعَلْتَ ، فَقَامَ وَلَوَى شِقَّيَ شَعْرِ رَأْسِهِ حَتَّى عَقَدَهُ وَهُوَ مَغْسُولٌ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ حَتَّى أَتَى عَلِيًّا وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي جَنْبِ دَارِهِ ، فَقَالَ طَلْحَةُ وَمَعَهُ أُمُّهُ وَأُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ : لَوْ رَفَّهْتَ النَّاسَ عَنْ هَذَا فَقَدِ اشْتَدَّ حَصْرُهُ ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ مَا أُحِبُّ مِنْ هَذَا شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ جَمَاعَةٌ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .

Abdullah bin Abi Rafi' narrates the following statement from his mother: Once al-Sa'bah bint al-Hadrami came out, and we heard her saying to her son Talhah bin Ubaydullah: "The siege of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) has become severe; you should speak about it so that he may be given relief." At that time Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) had washed one side of his head. He did not give her any answer, so she put her hand into her sleeve, brought out her breast and said: "By the carrying of you and the nursing of you that I did, I adjure you to do this without fail." So Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up at once, twisted the hair on that side of his head, which had been washed, and tied it in a knot. Then he went out from there and came to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), who was sitting outside his house. Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) was there, with his mother, and the mother of Abdullah bin Abi Rafi' was with them. Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It would be appropriate if you tried to keep the people away from this man, for his siege has become severe." Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "By Allah! In this matter I do not like anything that he dislikes."
