Badr bin Khalid narrates: On a day during the siege of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) came and stood by us and said: Do you people not feel shy before one before whom the angels feel shy? I said: What does that mean? He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Once Uthman passed by me while an angel was with me, and he said: He will be a martyr; his own people will kill him, and we (angels) feel shy before him." Badr, the narrator, says: So a group of us left him and went back.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Isma'il al-Wasawisi, who used to fabricate hadith.
