Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 14440

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "On the evening of Arafah, Allah Almighty expressed pride in His servants before the angels in general, and expressed pride in Umar in particular."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Rahman bin Ibrahim al-Qass, whom Imam Ahmad declared thiqah (trustworthy), while the majority declared him da'if (weak).
