Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Once, in my presence, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) were discussing their births, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was older than Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, his blessed age was sixty-three years, and when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, he too was sixty-three years old; and he, that is, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), lived for two and a half years after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: in the Sahih only this part of it is mentioned, that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away at the age of sixty-three.
Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
