Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1434

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for a man from the Ansar, and he was slow in coming to him. He said: "What held you back?" He said: "When your messenger came to me, I was with my wife, so I got up and took a ritual bath (ghusl)." He said: "There would have been nothing against you had you not taken a bath, so long as you did not ejaculate." The narrator said: And the Ansar used to do that.
Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Abu Sa'd al-Baqqal, who is da'if (weak).
