Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The illness of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began in the house of Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). His illness became severe, and he would lose consciousness. His wives decided through mutual consultation that medicine should be poured into his mouth, and they poured medicine into his mouth. When he regained consciousness, he said: "Who has done this?" We said: "The women who came from that direction did this," and she pointed towards the land of Abyssinia; Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) was also among those women. The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, we feared that you might be suffering from pleurisy (dhat al-janb)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is an illness with which Allah Almighty would not afflict me. Now let medicine be poured into the mouth of everyone present in the house, except the uncle of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)," by which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). The female narrator says: So Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) also had medicine poured into her mouth that day, even though she was fasting; she did so because of the emphatic order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the "Sahih". (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith narrated by Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) has already passed in the Book of the Caliphate.
