Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1398

Sayyiduna Usamah bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Regarding wiping over the leather socks, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For the traveller (its period) is three days, and for the resident one day and one night."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Umar bin Abdullah bin Ya'la, and there is agreement that he is da'if (weak).
