Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1393

Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Regarding wiping over the leather socks, for the traveller it is three days and three nights, and for the resident one day and one night."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, al-Dabbi bin al-Ash'ath, from whom munkar (rejected) reports are transmitted.
