Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1391

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about wiping over the leather socks, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(Its specified period is) three days for the traveller, and one day and one night for the resident."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. I have not found anyone mentioning the narrator Ayyub bin Khuraym other than Ibn Abi Hatim, and he neither criticised him nor declared him trustworthy.
