Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a red tent when a man came riding a horse, followed by a foal. He asked: "Who are you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am the Messenger of Allah." He said: "When will the Hour come?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is something unseen, and no one knows the unseen except Allah." He asked: "When will the clouds send down rain?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is unseen, and no one knows the unseen except Allah Almighty." He asked: "What is in the womb of my mare?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is unseen, and no one knows the unseen except Allah Almighty." He said: "Give me this sword of yours." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Here, take it." He took the sword, drew it and brandished it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "You will not be able to do what you intended." Then he explained: "This man came, having thought: I will go to him and question him, and then take hold of my sword and kill him." Then he sheathed the sword.
At-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
