Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1384

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding wiping over the leather socks: "For the resident its period is one day and one night, and for the traveller three days and three nights."
Al-Qati'i recorded it in his "Ziyadat" (additions) to the "Musnad Ahmad"; Abu Ya'la, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat also recorded it. The narrators of al-Bazzar and Abu Ya'la are thiqat (trustworthy).
