بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يَشْبَعُ وَجَارُهُ جَائِعٌ
One who eats his fill while his neighbour is hungry

وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا أُعْطِيكُمْ وَأَدَعُ أَهْلَ الصُّفَّةِ يُلَوَّى بُطُونَهُمُ مِنَ الْجُوعُ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ وَقَدِ اخْتَلَطَ .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(In such a situation) I will not give to you while leaving the People of the Suffah, whose stomachs are twisted with hunger."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, who suffered from confusion (ikhtilat) in his memory.
