وَعَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَقَدْ أَوْصَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ بِالْجَارِ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ لَيُوَرِّثُهُ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ الْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Jibril urged me about the neighbour, until I thought that he would make him an heir."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, al-Muttalib bin Abdullah bin Hantab, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but has some weakness; the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the "Sahih".
