وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ دَاوُدُ بْنُ فَرَاهِيجَ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Jibril kept urging me about the neighbour, until I thought that he would make him an heir."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Dawud bin Farahij, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but has some weakness; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
