Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1354

Awsajah narrates that his father said: I was travelling with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he kept wiping over his leather socks.
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and he said: This is narrated from Awsajah, from his father, from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and the narrator Mahdi bin Hafs made a mistake in it.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: That is what he said. The report of Awsajah bin Muslim from his father will come later.
