Majma al-Zawaid 13446 — Maintaining and severing ties of kinship
وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " الرَّحِمُ شِجْنَةٌ آخِذَةٌ بِحُجْزَةِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، تُنَاشِدُهُ حَقَّهَا فَيَقُولُ : أَلَا تَرْضَيْنَ أَنْ أَصِلَ مَنْ وَصَلَكِ وَأَقْطَعَ مَنْ قَطَعَكِ ؟ مَنْ وَصَلَكِ فَقَدْ وَصَلَنِي وَمَنْ قَطَعَكِ فَقَدْ قَطَعَنِي " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ الرَّبَذِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The womb is a branch that will be holding on to the Most Merciful, and it will plead with Him concerning its right. The Lord will say: 'Are you not pleased that I will join whoever joins you and cut off whoever cuts you off? Whoever joins you will be joined to Me, and whoever cuts you off will be cut off from Me.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Musa bin Ubaydah al-Rabadhi, who is da'if (weak).
