وَعَنْ خَلَّادِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَمَدَحَنِي فِي وَجْهِي وَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ حَمَلَنِي عَلَى أَنْ أَمْدَحَكَ فِي وَجْهِكَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِذَا مُدِحَ الْمُؤْمِنُ فِي وَجْهِهِ رَبَا الْإِيمَانُ فِي قَلْبِهِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ وُثِّقُوا .
Khallad bin al-Sa'ib narrates: I went to Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he praised me to my face and said: "I praised you to your face because I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'When a believer is praised to his face, faith grows in his heart.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, and the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
