Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13173

Sayyiduna al-Ala bin al-Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he wrote a letter to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned himself first (that is, that it was from him).
This narration was recorded by Imam al-Bazzar from the son of Sayyiduna al-Ala bin al-Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him), from his father. He did not name the son. It appears that Sayyiduna al-Ala bin al-Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him) had the honour of being a Companion. The remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
